Swin joined her Chicago Sky teammates Tamera Young and Michelle Campbell at the 12th annual Father of the Year awards ceremony. This ceremony had special meaning to Swin and her teammates as one of the four chosen honorees was also Chicago Sky owner Michael Alter. Michael was honored for his work with The City Year Youth Service Corps, a program he founded to involve young adults in a year round commitment to community service and leadership.
The ceremony raised money for the American Diabetes Association and will help prevent and cure diabetes while also improving the lives of those living with the disease. The photos below include some of the same youth that the June 13th dinner will help cure all while improving their quality of life.
When asked about the event Swin commented, “It is a great honor to be included with so many positive leaders in Chicago including our owner Michael whose commitment to service and community resonates strongly with me and my own personal values. I am proud to be a member of an organization that sees the importance of giving back as much as I do.”
The Sky return to the court after a week long layoff on Sunday June 16th as they travel to Atlanta to play the Dream. Tip-off is schedule for 2pm CST.
