Cash nets double figures in victory over Team China

Team USA kicked off their quest for gold in London with a 100-62 victory over Team China in an exhibition contest at Key Arena in Seattle Washington. In 15 minutes of action Swin, who received a loud standing ovation from her former ‘Storm Crazies’ upon checking into the game, finished with an impressive 10 points on 4-5 shooting in just 15 minutes of action. Tamika Catchings lead Team USA with 19 points in what was a balanced scoring attack that saw 6 players reach double figures.

Although this was the first game Team USA has played since the rosters were announced there were many familiar faces on both sides of the court. With 6 former UCONN Huskies on this year’s team the group has a solid sense of familiarity with one another’s playing style. In addition, this game featured 3 Chinese teammates of Swin during her time overseas playing for the DongGuan New Century Club. Those teammates were Wei Wei, Guan Xin and Li Shanshan.

Swin must now switch gears back to the WNBA as she finishes out the preseason and prepares for the season opener Saturday May 19th at the Washington Mystics.
