Cash Nets 7 and a W in Sky Debut
Swin Cash donned the blue and white for the first time as a member of the Chicago Sky scoring 7 points while adding 5 rebounds and 2 assists in 16 minutes of action during Chicago’s 73-68 pre-season victory over the Washington Mystics in front of an excited crowd at New Trier High School. The veteran Cash was still able to leave her mark on the game despite playing limited minutes and exiting the game for good with 4:15 left in the 3rd quarter.
After the game Swin remarked “it was great to finally play someone other than ourselves in practice. I was really proud of my teammates today. Everyone played very hard and really set the tone to how we need to approach this season.”
Swin is now off to Seattle where she will don the red, white and blue of Team USA in an exhibition game against Team China on Saturday May 12th at Key Arena. This will mark Swin’s first appearance in Seattle since her trade in January. It will also be the first time she has seen her teammates from DongGuan in months, though this time she will be competing against them instead of with them. As she considers them part of her family, it will definitely be an adjustment for her to compete against them!
